Wim Labat, known by his artist name Blackbird Motion, is a composer and producer from Oostkamp, Belgium.

His new album, Ground Breaking, will be released on March 20, 2026.

Driven by a lifelong passion for music, Wim has followed a unique and evolving musical path.

With Ground Breaking, he opens a bold new chapter. Unlike his earlier sample-based works, Moving On (2002) and Dreamscapes (2013), this album is entirely self-composed and self-produced, created from the ground up.

Musically, Ground Breaking moves through ambient, cinematic, experimental and electronic soundscapes, inviting the listener into an immersive and reflective world.
